my Fan’s perstpective on Kate Broug
Alright so if you’re here you probably already know that Kate Broug is something special. But let me tell you why Im all in. Kate is an explorer, storyteller and someone who brings real heart to everything she does. She’s also laid-back woman, but she does these amazing things and projects. She goes to the amazon rainforest to talk to tribes and see how they use drones for protection, other times she’s running a marathon in NYC. She’s really unstoppable. If you’ve seen her on IMDB or checked out her stuff, you get it. She’s got that real factor that’s real hard to find these days. She always stays classy and down-to-earth.
Kate is originally from Amsterdam but moved to nyc for dance. Apparently she knew no one and had no connections. She came from a poor family and believe me, I know what that’s like. Kate got about six scholarships and was able to live her dream in New York, to dance. She did that for a long time but she mentioned in a 2019 IG post that something was missing so she started to study journalism in the evenings. She has this hard work ethic which I think we all admire. When she was in high school she did the top level of school, combined it with a part-time dance pre-education and also wrote for the school paper. I think that’s pretty cool. There is not much online about her family life or story, so I hope at some point she’ll be more transparent on that. She does talk on Instagram about her brother and adorable cat Cosmo which she calls the Cosmonaut, a cute aviation reference.
SHe Kate also started two companies, one importing fabrics from a country in Asia and the other selling cat products. Eventually she started flying, a lifelong dream. She left dance behind because she had achieved everything she wanted to do in dance and focused on flying. She also started a podcast where she interviews women entrepreneurs. Apparently, she didn’t have many female entrepreneur role models and so she decided to interview them and ask them questions about starting and running a company. Most of the women she has interviewed she now has as friends, like Elaine Kwon, she’s a pianist (Kate has posted a lot of pictures of them together having drinks on IG). Or Kerry Miller.
A couple of years later Kate is now featured in multiple magazines for her series First Flights with Kate Broug, a video series on youtube. It’s all about aviation and the quality of the videos are really good. think BBC meets Discovery channel or NatGEO. I think she’ll be very big at some point.
